We all know that it’s nice to indulge and treat ourselves from time to time, but it’s also important to stay on top of our health and fitness too. The Harbour Hotel is the perfect option for those of you looking for a relaxing break away, but still having options to stay on top of your training regime.

Here are our top tips to stay fit during your stay with us in Galway:

Work out in the Hotel

The Harbour Hotel is situated on the docks and is the perfect starting point for your walk, jog or run. Here are our recommendations:

  • Harbour Hotel – G Hotel – Eyre Square – Harbour Hotel = 4.3km
  • Harbour Hotel – Salthill – Harbour Hotel = 5km
  • Harbour Hotel – Mutton Island – Harbour Hotel = 5.4km
  • Harbour Hotel – Galway Golf Club – Harbour Hotel = 10km
Enjoy a healthy breakfast

We all know that with busy work schedules and days that are full with meetings and travel, a lot of the time it can just be easier to grab a coffee and a croissant to go for breakfast. At the Harbour Hotel, we are conscious that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This is why we strive to provide healthy, filling breakfast options that are sure to keep you going during your hectic schedule. Served from 7am each morning, enjoy a hearty bowel of ‘steel – cut’ oats with delicious healthy toppings, an array of fresh fruit, yoghurts or a healthy omelette made to order.

Go for a Swim

Salthill is a favourite area for many avid swimmers in Galway. The bathing area and diving boards here are a magnet drawing young and old, and a hive of activity as retirees mix with schoolchildren to swim and jump from the dual-aspect boards.

If you would prefer a swim away from the elements, Salthill also has indoor swimming pools in Leisureland. Boasting a 25 metre deck level swimming pool, a warm up pool, sauna and steam rooms, it is the perfect choice for an indoor dip.

Find your inner zen with yoga

After a hectic day of business and meetings, you will be looking for something to relax your mind. Or perhaps you may prefer a yoga session early in the morning to prepare yourself for the busy day ahead. From Satyanada yoga, Bikram yoga, Hatha yoga or Ashtanga yoga to name a few, Galway has the facilities for whatever type of yoga you enjoy all within walking distance of the Harbour Hotel.
