Galway Christmas Market

From Friday 15th of November until Friday 22nd December

Located on Eyre Square, the Galway Continental Christmas Market is made up of more than 50 chalet-style stalls and features various other entertainments, like a ferris wheel, live music, puppet shows and much more.
Food lovers can indulge in various delicacies; from bratwurst to confectionary and waffles, there is something for every taste. Additionally, there is a German Bierkeller serving not only various German beers but also ciders and mulled wine.

Monday – Wednesday: 12 noon – 8pm
Thursday – Sunday: 10am – 10pm

Galway Skates

23rd November 2019 – 05th January 2020

Galway Skates is the perfect activity for the whole family. Until the middle of January, the Leisureland in Galway is home to a 600m2 real ice rink housed in a large marquee to protect you from every weather.

Opening Hours:

Monday – Friday (during school term): 1.30pm – 9pm
Saturday/Sunday: 10.30am – 9pm

Friday the 29th of November. It runs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, right up to the 23rd of December.

Santa and his elves are visiting Galway again this year and will be staying in Elftown at the Ballybrit Racecourse. This interactive Christmas experience lets your children become trainee elves and help Santa with his important duties leading up to Christmas.

COPE Christmas Day Swim

25th December, 10am - 1 pm

Are you spending Christmas Day in Galway and feeling brave? Brave the cold Atlantic Ocean so that others do not have to. The traditional COPE Galway Christmas Swim is held every year to rise funds in support of isolated men, women and families in Galway.
