Macnas Halloween Parade 2019

Sunday 27th October

Something spooktacular is taking place in Galway’s Latin Quarter this Halloween Weekend.

On Saturday and Sunday of the October bank holiday weekend, the city’s medieval streets will host the country’s biggest Halloween Festival with many fun and free events planned for the weekend with high-spirits guaranteed.

The highlight of the festival is expected to be the fiendishly creative Macnas Halloween Parade that will wind its way through Galway city centre on Sunday of the bank holiday weekend from approximately 5.30pm and spectators are encouraged to dress up too!

Halloween Bonfire & Storytelling at Brigits Garden

Sunday 27th to Monday 28th, October

Hallowe’en is coming to the Gardens, with a feast of activity and fun this coming October. All the family are invited to dress in their scariest Hallowe’en outfit for an afternoon of Ghoulish Arts & Crafts, Spooky Storytelling, Hunting for The Púca, Witchery in the Roundhouse and the grand finale, everybody’s favourite – the Bonfire to celebrate Samhain.

This is a family friendly event. There will be a Little Spook’s Treasure Hunt for little ones and the Super Spooky Scavenger Hunt for bigger kids around Brigit’s Garden.

Halloween Treat at Turoe Pet Farm

Monday 28th to Thursday 31st October

Treat your family to an amazing Halloween fun filled experience at Turoe Pet Farm with their indoor soft play jungles, all decorated and ready for a spooky seasonal experience. Children can enjoy playing on the slides, in the ball pits or be a little more adventurous and play on the rope ladders of “Jungle City”, or leap and bounce on the massive “Inflatable City”.

There is also face painting and balloon modelling followed by a fancy dress parade at 4pm. Finally, this will be topped off by “Disco with DJ Corky and Special Mascots”.

Slieve Aughty Halloween Festival

Saturday October 26th to Sunday November 3rd,

It’s a spooky time at Slieve Aughty during the Halloween Festival, with ghosts and goblins galore, haunted houses, Halloween tricks and treats, scary stories, costumes and face painting, horses and ponies to pet and ride, arts and crafts and the Howl-o-Ween Charity Ride.

This event which is running from Saturday October 26th to Sunday November 3rd, 2019, 12 to 6 pm daily promises be the perfect treat for everyone

Galway Pumpkin Patch

Friday October 18th to Monday October 28th,

Galway Pumpkin Patch will open during the week before October Bank Holiday Weekend. Adults and children can go along for a fun Halloween-themed day out, which includes much more than just pumpkin picking. There will be lots of decorations, fancy dress, games, and face painting. Tea, coffee and spooky treats will also be available on site between 10am and 4.30pm. 

The Pumpkin Patch is located on Ms Whelan’s family farm at Castletaylor Demense in Ardrahan and it’s the first time the historic estate will be opened up to the public.
