This is a new 150km cycling sportive which will take place on Sunday 16th August 2015. This is a chip-timed event on open roads in Connemara. You are against the clock to complete the challenging and scenic route through Connemara, and your finishing time becomes your target to beat the following year. It is also a great opportunity to test you and your club members that you ride with regularly. You can all work together and push yourselves without the pressure of an official race, but you still get an official time!
The event is organised by Croí, the heart & stroke charity, with all proceeds going back to the charity. Croí have over 18 years experience in delivering the Annual Lough Corrib Cycle which attracts over 900 participants each year. The charity is totally funded by its own fundraising initiatives and over the years, the charity has raised over €14 million to reduce the impact of Cardiovascular Disease on families in the west of Ireland.
