Christmas in Galway

November 30, 2016

There is nothing quite like the excitement of Christmas; whether it is the anticipation of little ones visiting Santa Claus, the crisp fresh weather that Winter brings or family members coming home, it truly is ‘the most wonderful time of the year’ as Andy Williams would say. Personally, and I think this thought resounds with many Irish people, nowhere compares to Galway at Christmas. As many people know, Galway is famous for its friendly locals, narrow picturesque streets and ‘the craic’ - Mix all of this with the magic of Christmas and Galway becomes somewhere quite special and unique...

We're Going on an Adventure!

November 11, 2016

Ok, we are all guilty of it, arriving into a new city or town on holidays and getting straight onto the “tourist trail” because it’s “easy”. The open top bus, the big bus day tours with 40 – 50 strangers all being herded around over populated tourist spots and paying over the odds for an experience that in essence “Tick’s a Box”.

I decided if I didn’t get my act together, I would be truly lost in this technological World… So I decided to do a bit of research!  I wanted to find out more about the Galway online marketing scene and how marketing has progressed throughout the years! These are my findings….

"Why I won't serve 'Scotch'!"
A Bar Man's Whiskey Tale...

May 16, 2016

The first evening I ever worked in a bar, I, like a lot of people, bluffed my way in to the job. Things were going great, I had mastered polishing glasses, my lemon slices were second to none, that was until I looked up and saw a wizened old man sat at the bar. Well, I say sitting, but it was hard to tell where the coated and chipped varnish of the bar ended and his bog stained hands began, he looked like he had been carved into the counter, and to be honest, I really didn’t hear him walk in. No small talk, just the politely gruff request for a “pint and a ball of malt.”
